Quality over Quantity
I recently re-read The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday. It was one of my all-time favorite books. Every re-read serves as a reminder in my daily life.
Why Quality over Quantity?
You don’t need to read all books on Personal Finance category to learn how to manage money and become financially successful. You probably just need to read about 5 books or even less than that and you could be doing pretty decent in your own finances.
Parenting
I recently apply this concept in Parenting. You don’t just need to spend a lot of time with your kids. But you do need to spend some quality time with them.
What’s quality time?
Quality time is really about making good memory such as
- Give your full attention when you’re with your kids.
- Being present at that moment
- Engage with the kids.
A good example could be taking your kid to the playground. Involvement in activities and engagement such as playing slides with them. There are a lot of examples.
Less Guilt, But More Awareness
I am not telling you to do that for every moment. Let me be honest with you. Sometimes, I still look at my phone while hanging out with kids. But, at least we are aware of this and improve on how we handle this.
Conclusion
Lastly, Quality over quantity does not only apply to self-learning and parenting. You could apply it to multiple areas in your life:
- Better Quality Food
- Better Quality Tools
Let me know what areas in your life you apply quality over quantity. I am looking forward to your sharing.
